With his undeniable passion for food and commitment to the hospitality industry, Garreth is well underway to achieving his goal of becoming Executive Chef in the future.
Garreth began his love of cooking spending time in the kitchen with his grandmother. After studying Food Technology in school, he finished year 12 and started his apprenticeship. In 2009 Garreth travelled to London on a scholarship to work with Marcus Wareing at "The Berkely" and "Pied a Terre". Garreth then travelled through France and Spain to learn extensively about food in both regions before returning to Australia.
In February this year Garreth won another scholarship to travel back to England to work at "The Ledbury" with Brett Graham. Garreth participates in the HTN Hospitality Road show to promote his industry and career opportunities. He has enrolled in and is due for early completion of his Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management in October this year.
He is certainly a wonderful ambassador for Apprenticeships and particularly the Commercial Cookery industry, with a very bright future.
"Doing this traineeship was the single most important decision of my life" says Lacey-Rose who is now aspiring to become a Probation Officer within the criminal justice system.
During her traineeship, Lacey-Rose completed report writing, document production, court timetabling and more. She was able to assist others with her computer skills when the new software was installed and has letters of commendation from Chamber Magistrates. The traineeship motivated her to complete her HSC through OTEN where she scored a mark of 94 which enabled Lacey-Rose to enrol into her Bachelor of Social Science - Criminal Justice, which she is now completing in preparation of becoming a probationary officer.
Lacey-Rose is involved with Rotary and participated in the Rotary Model United Nations Conference during her traineeship and will participate in the Rotary Youth Conference later this year. She is certainly a wonderful ambassador for her industry.
